Quit Smoking and Lose Weight

Massage. It Does a Body Good.

Everyone can benefit from a healing and therapeutic massage to melt away stress and rejuvenate tired, over-used muscles. People who frequently receive massages report better sleep quality, higher energy levels, improved concentration and circulation, and less anxiety.

Did you know that massage can:

  • Reduce the incidence of illness by reducing stress levels known to weaken the body's defenses against disease.
  • Stretch, relax and soften injured, weak or frequently-used muscles.
  • Lead to a reduction in one's use of medication for pain by releasing endorphins, the body's natural painkiller.
  • Improve circulation by stimulating blood flow and increasing oxygen and nutrients to the body.
  • Stimulate the lymphatic system which aids the immune system in fighting off illness.
  • Reduce lower back pain, cramping and spasms, and improve one's range of motion.
  • Aid athletes in recovery from strenuous use of the body and help to keep their bodies loose and stretched.
  • Improve the condition of the skin and increase joint flexibility.
  • Lessen depression and anxiety.
  • Promote healing, reduce swelling, and reduce scars and stretch marks.

Massage Therapy Services

Here is a list of the types of massage offered by our licensed massage therapist. To schedule your massage simply call 616.336.7662.

General Medical Massage

This therapeutic massage promotes full body relaxation while helping to increase circulation and range of motion in joints. Our massage therapist combines education, training, experience, dedication, and intuition to create an integrative manual-therapy approach to reducing clients' pain and fatigue.

Sports Massage

Perfect for a very active or athletic individual who seeks a muscle intensive massage. Sports massage concentrates more on specific areas of the body. Ideal for recreational lifestyles to help relieve discomfort or pain from over-activity.

Benefits: Sports massage is performed to help the individual in affected muscle groups or areas. Technique is great for someone who has a recurring area of the body that needs special attention and relief.

Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system is essential as the body's drainage system for cleaning and filtering out of bacteria and toxins. Congested lymph pathways can cause soreness, aches, pains and flu-like symptoms. Lymphatic massage helps to unclog the lymph system. Beginning in a clockwise motion on the body, the lymph system is manually stimulated, which promotes cleansing. This form of massage helps the body to heal itself from many common health issues.

Benefits: Many cases of disharmony on the body and mind are due to an exhausted lymph system. Lymphatic massage helps to clear the "passage-ways." Excellent after surgery.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage targets the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Our massage therapist uses slower strokes or friction techniques across the grain of the muscle. Deep tissue massage is used for chronically tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or recovery from injury. People often feel sore for one to two days after deep tissue massage.

Abdominal Massage

A non-invasive, external massage technique performed in a slow, deep, penetrating manner which releases deep muscle tissue spasms and facilitates the normal flow of blood, lymph, nerves and chi throughout the entire body. Improves organ function by releasing physical and emotional congestion from the abdomen. This technique is effective for both men and women.
