Haiti Medical Mission

I am getting ready for my medical mission trip to Haiti with great anticipation. Word, from the surgical team that I'm going with, is that there are a couple of complex hand cases that need to be completed. One being on a young girl with several hand fractures.

It's amazing how much one can fit in a small amount of space, given that I'll be there for a week and need to carry all of my personal supplies as carry-on luggage. The check-in luggage will include supplies and medication needed for our mission, along with toys for the children. Dealing with the emotional and psychological trauma of the earthquake, I'm sure that many children will cherish the thought of a little something special brought their way.

I have to thank all of my family, friends, and clients who have donated funds and/or supplies to make this trip possible. My hope is to come back and share my experience, through this blog, and let everyone know how their contributions made a difference to the people of Haiti. I'll report back in a couple of weeks!
